Guildrun Demo Guide

The Guildrun demo is a full-systems preview, not a five-minute trailer build. Here is what you get, what stays locked to the full game timeline, and how to jump in. Treat it as a full-systems preview with unlock progression, not a five-minute trailer booth build, and expect weekly balance changes during the demo period.

Access

How to download the demo

Open the Guildrun Demo Steam page, install it like any free demo, and launch. You do not need the paid full game (still unreleased) to play. Wishlist the main Guildrun page if you want launch notifications for the late 2026 release window.

Official community hubs include Discord, X/Twitter (@PlayGuildrun), Reddit r/Guildrun, Instagram, TikTok, and a QQ link for Chinese players. Weekly patches have been part of the development cadence since the closed alpha in January 2026.

Official store claims for the demo pool: 25 heroes, 180 specializations, 300+ relics, 100+ items, eight difficulties, and Endless mode with global leaderboards. Public hands-on coverage describes two structured acts before Endless continues.

Systems are not truncated toys: shops, auctions, ranks, multiclassing, items, and relics are all present. The limitation is content breadth and the full release timeline, not the absence of the core loop.

The demo is intentionally meaty: it is meant to showcase weekly-patch live-service development rather than a disposable vertical slice. Expect balance changes; do not treat day-one damage numbers as forever truth.

If you only have thirty minutes, play a single easy clear focusing on shops and one auction. If you have an evening, climb a difficulty and try Endless once so you feel the leaderboard hook the studio is building toward.

Fit

Who the demo is for

Play it if you like autobattlers, Slay the Spire-style relics, or theorycrafting without a PvP ladder. Skip it if you need action combat control or multiplayer competition. Runs are single-player, pausable in practice via the no-timer design, and built for experiment-heavy players.

Players coming from Teamfight Tactics will recognize placement and itemization. Players coming from Slay the Spire will recognize relic evaluation. Players coming from pure action roguelikes may need a session to accept that the skill expression is mostly between fights.

If you dislike reading tooltips, Guildrun will feel hostile. The depth is in the text: keywords, rank branches, and relic rules. This wiki exists to make that text less opaque on day one.
